Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers would like your assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a substantial theft of copper wire from Northern Woods located on Vibert Road.

Sometime between 2:00 p.m. on October 31, 2014 and 1:00 p.m. on November 3, 2014 the entry gate that had been welded shut to prohibit entry onto the property was cut and the property accessed. The suspects proceeded to disable the power to the two hydro poles and cut multiple hydro cables.

Once the power was shut off to the building, they went on to the roof where there was an electric tray that contained multiple cables. The suspects began to cut 20 foot lengths of the 2 ½ inch diameter cable that contained copper wire. The lengths were sent over the edge of the roof and into a vehicle.

It is estimated that hundreds of kilograms of copper wire valued at several thousands of dollars has been taken and over $100,000 worth of damages was sustained to the property.
